On Father’s Day do something different, in the stunning Grade one listed gardens of Port Eliot you find not only a bewildering array of shrubs and magnificent trees, but also turn of the century summerhouses, fountains, ornamental ponds and even a secret maze which children love to explore.
Take a leisurely wander around the gardens and its structures, dine alfresco on a picnic and relax a while by the River Tiddy taking in the magnificence of Brunel and Mother Nature’s engineering feats.
Port Eliot House and Gardens are undertaking a lengthy programme of renovation and restoration works during 2019, so take advantage of this opportunity to visit these historic gardens that will not be open regularly to the public until 2020.
